After 12 years of working in the IT industry, Ron Wight decided to follow his passion for wine to become a certified wine professional. After relocating to Austin from San Francisco (and traveling to every imaginable wine country in between), Wight opened the cozy, down-to-earth Uncorked Tasting Room and Wine Bar.

Among the things that sets Uncorked apart is the truly knowledgeable staff. Each staff member is intimately acquainted with the offerings and is happy to make recommendations based on food choices. The fare is simple -- cheese, meats and breads for starters, with steak, seafood, and vegetarian large plates -- to let the wine speak for itself. Everything about Uncorked is understated so that the wine takes center stage.
