Located in a handsome house in downtown Austin, Aquarelle offers fine French food and an extensive wine list, as well as a wine bar that hosts a happy hour from 5 to 7pm, Tuesday through Sunday. Although this restaurant takes reservations and is frequented by guests celebrating special occasions, the prices of the food and wine at the bar make weekly visits to Aquarelle practically a necessity.

Don't be intimidated by the words "fine dining" and "French" -- Aquarelle is known for its low-key ambiance and friendly service, and pours cost anywhere between $6 and $18. The restaurant, like the food, strikes a balance between sophistication (the waiters wear crisp white shirts with black vests) and comfort. Aquarelle is the answer to everything from fancy dinner dates to quick and simple drinks with friends.
